摘要：A method of controlling operation of an electrostatic precipitator () is providedwherein a soot-blowing operation is performed in an upstream device. According to themethod, a signal is sent to a controller () that a soot-blowing operation is about to be

initiated in the upstream device (). The controller () is operative for controllingperformance of a rapping event with respect to the electrostatic precipitator (), andcauses a rapping decision () to be made, based on receipt of the signal. The rappingdecision includes establishment of a first point in time (T) for initiating performance of arapping event with respect to the electrostatic precipitator (), such that said first point intime (T) is correlated to a second point in time (T). The second point in time (T) is the timeat which the soot-blowing operation of upstream device () is initiated.
